Genesis and The Big Bang adheres to the Nicene Creed, one of the original creeds of the Christian faith.

We believe in one God,
the father almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all things visible and invisible.

And in one Lord Jesus Christ,
the only Son of God,
begotten from the Gather before all ages,
God from God,
Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made;
of the same essence as the Father.
Through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation
he came down from heaven;
he became incarnate by the Holy Spirit and the virgin Mary,
and was made human.
He was crucified fur us under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered and was buried.
The third day he rose again, according to the Scriptures.
He ascended to heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again with glory
to judge the living and the dead.
His kingdom will never end.

And we believe in the Holy Spirit,
the Lord, the giver of life.
He proceeds from the Father and the Son,
and with the Father and the Son is worshipped and glorified.
He spoke through the prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic church.
We affirm one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look forward to the resurrection of the dead,
and to life in the world to come. Amen.

With respect to the creation account in Genesis 1-2 and other Bible passages, we believe:

  • God cannot lie; thus, there cannot be any disagreement between God’s account of the creation in Scripture and the evidence seen in the scientific record.

  • Any seeming disagreement between Scripture and the scientific record stems from our misinterpretation of either the Bible or the scientific evidence.

  • The Torah was written in Hebrew, which differs from English and Western ways of thinking. Careful exegetical study and Hebrew word analysis is required.

  • The Biblical account of creation (including Genesis 1-2 and other passages) describes literal events which actually took place in history.

  • God intentionally left physical evidence of these events, so that the creation story would bolster our faith and strengthen the Gospel message in the world.

  • The physical evidence shows that the universe and the Earth are old, but not eternal. The universe does not oscillate.

  • The Bible is the only Holy Book that correctly describes the origins of the universe, Earth, life, and mankind.
